It's the prince's turn to do the scratch-and-smile game, and he's having none of it. He can't even scratch the 1.000 pieces of paper that the prince has to scratch, because the prince doesn't have the nerve to do it alone. He has to work with the other kids around him, and they're all doing the same thing. The only difference, though, is that the kids are working on their spelling instead of their scratch marks. The other kids are doing theirs too, but they don't seem to mind. They're just trying to keep up with the rest of the group.
