In this short scene, we learn that the two men are on their way back to the Chief's quarters when they encounter a "dummy" , who tries to distract them from the fact that they're late for work. The two men try to talk each other out of running away, but the dummy refuses to listen to them. He tells them that the Chief is about to return home, and that he's just talked to him about getting a new job. He also tells them to rub the address on the mission summary so that they don't get caught in the "dimension slip," which is a fancy way of saying that they can't see each other in the other's space. The dummy says that he can almost read the summary, but that he doesn't quite understand what's going on. He's worried that the men are going to run away in the dimension slip, but they'll be able to see them in the real world. They're already dead, he says, and they can just go back to their normal selves. He then tells the dummy to put the dangerous thing down, and the two run away.
