In this chapter, the three external disciples discuss the significance of the new qi-gong system, which they believe to be the most important religious system in the world. They discuss how they have come to participate in this year's test, and how they feel that they have been let down by the lack of enthusiasm shown by the other disciples. The external disciples explain that the three of them have come because they want to appreciate the beauty of the holy goddess, not just participate in the holy test. They feel that their presence in the grand formation flatters them, and they are grateful.
