In this chapter, we learn that the narrator's financial situation has taken a turn for the worse. He's failed to pay his rent and has been thrown out of his apartment. He accepts a job offer from a porn director, who promises to take care of him from now on. The narrator is worried about what he'll have to wear in the director's house, and he wonders if the director will give him a collar or something. He also wonders if he's going to be given some sort of reward for his work. The director promises to give the narrator a "pet" like in "erotic manga," but the narrator doesn't think that's a good idea. He asks the director if he can play the role of a patient in the doctor's office. The doctor promises to test the narrator for a headache and a fever, and if the narrator is feeling better, the doctor will continue to treat him.
