In this chapter, we learn that the decision to close the branch of the Ohka company was made by the young master, who is now engaged to an outsider. The young master tells us that he is sorry that the gossip has gotten carried and that he cannot do anything about it. He says that he was saved by the president 15 years ago, and that the president is the one who saved him from the brink of death. He asks the young man if he heard anything from the old man, and he says yes. He then asks if he was able to stay away from doing anything before he was married, and the man says yes, but that all the shops in the area are closed. He tells the young woman that he wants to show her all the affection he has for her, and she agrees to do so.
