Terence chases after Chingford, but Chingford drops his hammer in the middle of the field. Chingford thinks that Chingford dropped it when Chingford was chasing him, but he can't figure out how Chingford could have dropped his hammer so far away from Chingford's house. He heads back to the house, where Chingford feels like he's going to have to go back and forth between the house and the field to find his hammer. He thinks Chingford is going to head back to his house, but then he remembers that he used to go to the field with Chingford to look for a skipping step. Chingwill thinks that the rock hammer will do the job, but it won't be as strong as the one Chingford used to use. He's bummed that he'll never be able to go see Peter again, because Chingford will be back soon enough to help him with his dyeing pot. He tries to get some water in the dye pot, but the water seems to drip. He wonders if someone will lend him their dyeing pot, and then he can come pick up the pot later.
