The adulterous narrator enters his room and tells the reader that everything is going well. He's glad to hear that things are going well, but he's also worried about when the kids are going to return. He tells his wife that his body is getting hotter and hotter, and that he had better get things under control before things get out of hand. He doesn't want his wife to think that something bad is about to happen when she sees him in his room, so he'll go and sleep. He asks if the kids will come back soon, and the narrator says that they'll probably not come back for a few days. The narrator then asks if he can have sex again, and he says that he can't because his body's getting hotter. He apologizes, but the narrator is too worn out to do so. He wants to know what's going on, and then he asks if she's been up to anything lately, and she says that she hasn't responded to any of his texts.
