About This Chapter
Part two opens with a conversation between Lucentio and his friend, the Governess. The Governess tells him that he has just gotten a job, and that the doctor has told him to "take things easy" because it is not "stressful at all" . He tells her that he wishes he could stay still and not think about anything, because he would go "stirring crazy" if he did that. He then tells her about his sister, who has been trying to kill him, and how she keeps her mind occupied with a telescope. He says that he hates his parents, who are always looking for trouble before they call them. He also says that his interest in astronomy is a result of listening to his sister's dreams, which he describes as "dreams with such determination." He tells his friend that he is going to try to find something cool in the sky tonight, so that he will be able to think about what he feels when he looks at the stars.
