The Governess is shocked to learn that the Governess's lover has not yet sent her a message. She wonders why he has not messaged her, and wonders if he has a "dream" in which he wants to see her. She asks him if he came because he wanted to "see it" , and he replies that he came simply to see if he was not "sparkling" .
