This chapter opens on a street in Harlem, New York. It's the middle of the night, and the narrator is looking for a wife to love him for the rest of his life. He can't find her anywhere. He's in the Harlem Unryu gang, and he's not happy about it. He tells the narrator to come up to his porch and find out what's going on. He doesn't want to be a part of a gang that's just going to kill him. He wants to be with a woman who loves him forever. The narrator is all, "I'm in Harlem and I'm a member of the unryu gang. I've already decided to join the gang and I want to see you." The narrator asks the gang leader if they're willing to give him back. The gang leader says no, but the narrator wants to know what the deal is
