He's worried that the rain's going to cause him to catch a cold, but he's also worried that his boss is going to catch one, too. He tells his boss that he'll be fine if he catches a cold. He also tells him that he can't run away from his boss if he gets caught in the rain. The narrator is worried that if his boss touches him in the shower, he won't be able to get away. He wants to make sure that he doesn't get caught, so he asks his boss to pull him away from the shower. The two of them are so close that they're almost touching each other, and it's hard for the narrator to move without getting caught. He tries to get his mistress to move, but she's too busy trying to get her husband to move away from her. Finally, the narrator tells her mistress that she can wash her hands in the bath, too, and that she'll get it all cleaned up for her.
