About This Chapter
Soichi's mother rummages through her son's desk and finds fan letters addressed to Soichi. The letters are addressed to the ward editor of the company where Soichi works. Soichi is a writer, and the letters are meant for him, not for Soichi himself. The mother says that she will never accept Soichi as a writer because he is too good-looking for a girl like her. She says that her own future was a dispute between her father and Soichi, and that the press conference was to convey that fact. Soachi says that he is unable to answer the question of whether or not his own future is in dispute with his father. He says that noveliststsu saeki told all that she is someone "not related" to the writing business that he contracted. So he apologizes for the pain he caused his mother, but he says that for all of the pain that he caused her, he could not apologize enough.
