About This Chapter
Four years have passed since he graduated from college. He's been working for a food company, and he's decided to return to school. He wants to be promoted, so he wants to introduce himself to the company's new leader. The leader is an "annoying dude" , but he doesn't seem to mind. He just wants to get the job done. He says he'll be moving up in the food chain. He tells the company that he'd like to go to a restaurant, but can't because he has too many things to do. He also tells them that they're making a joke out of the fact that he likes them, but that's just because he likes their food. He asks the leader if he can join him in making the project work, and the leader laughs and says that being a "picky eater" is the reason women don't have "charm." The leader apologizes, but the leader says that he should have yelled at him instead of yelling at him. He explains that he was just thinking about how long it had been since he had had a home-cooked meal, or eaten with someone, and how he was so picky that he didn't bother anyone. He thinks that maybe people just stopped trying to change him, and now he is having trouble. The company is excited to have him as a part of the team, and they all agree that the product is really good. The narrator says that this is because of the person who made the product, and that the project has changed him.
