In this chapter, we learn that Hiroshi is a student at the University of Western Australia, and that he has just returned from a trip to a hotel in New York City. Hiroshi tells us that he is in the middle of a conversation with another student, who is also a member of the university's soccer club. The two exchange pleasantries, and Hiroshi asks if the other student is in love with him. The other student replies that she is, and the two begin to joke about their love for each other.
