About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a flashback to a few months earlier, when the narrator was a member of the occult research society. He tells us that he's still not able to see his ghostly brother. He's also worried about his relationship with the club's president, who he thinks is a little too close to the Queen and her servant. He wonders if the club president tried to beat him the last time he tried to see ghosts. The club president, he says, tried to "exorcise" him last time, but this time he didn't. The narrator sighs and says that he doesn't really get along with the president of the club. He also says that the club is a "zoo gloom no way" . The president asks if he needs tea, and the narrator says he'll give him some. He says he has a spirit he wants to meet, but he can't feel him. He wants to speak to him clearly, and he needs to hurry. He asks the president if he can have some tea, but the president says no, because he can only see spirits when he has strong glasses on. He then tells the narrator that he can actually see spirits better when he takes off his glasses, because they suppress his powers of seeing. The chapter ends with the narrator thanking the president for joining the occult club.
