The narrator introduces himself as a twenty-year-old college student who has just received a notice saying that his gas bill will be cut. He is worried that he will not be able to pay his bill. He asks the men to whisper to him that he can do manual labor to cover the gap. The men reply that they want him to be their test subject. The narrator tries to convince the men that they are trying to test his manhood, but they do not believe him. He tells them to rub his nipples with a cloth and to raise his hips when he is tense. He feels bad that it will hurt him, but he is happy that he is making a living.
