Haruchika is in a hurry to get home from work. She's worried that she's going to run out of things to eat. She tells herself that she and her brother, i.zumi, have been dreaming about each other for a long time. They're both doll-makers, and they know what they want to do. They can't get along with anyone else, so they're going to have to go their separate ways. She says she'll go to Darfur, a city in the north of Germany, to figure out what to do with herself. She asks if she can bring izumi over to her house for a while, but he's not there yet. He doesn't seem to have any plans for her, and she wonders if his heart is still full of love for her. She also asks if izumi has any friends, and he says no. He's lonely, he says, because he'll have no one else to talk to. He also says that he'd like to keep his relationship with her secret, because it'll make her feel better about herself. He tells her that when he was with kanae, he was always around, but now that he is with izumi, he is constantly around. He says he wants to be with her all the time, even if it means sleeping with her. He wants to keep her company, too, and that's why he promised to do it in one week. He asks her if she plans on becoming a doll-maker, too. She replies that she plans to, too . She mentions that she sent izumi a letter three weeks ago, but that she hasn't received it yet. She scolds her for being late, saying that she should hurry up and see izumi. She then scolds herself for being selfish, saying, "people are more selfish then you think." She says that people are selfish because they don't take into account what other people are thinking.
