In this short scene, the two young men are in the middle of a conversation in which they try to keep their distance from one another. The narrator tries to convince the other to stay by his side, but the latter refuses. He tells the young man that his mother does not like him, and that she is on a "business trip" . The two men continue to argue, and the narrator finally realizes that he is in love with the other man.
