In this chapter, we learn that Yuta is in love with her teacher, Mr. Shimada, and that he is very jealous of her love for him. Yuta tells her teacher that she is going to announce all of her scores on her tests the next day. She tells Shimada that she has always been very interested in him and that it is too late for him to consider her an outstanding student. He tells her that he will be good to her and that the other teachers are worried that she might be studying too hard. He says that he has already bought her a present for Christmas and that they are going to have their first Christmas together. He is shocked to find out that they have broken up and that Shimada is jealous of his love for Yuta. He knows that a man who is confused about being gay should not give advice on such matters, but Shimada does not believe him. She says that she was planning to tell Shimada of her marriage so that he would not be jealous, but that she froze waiting for her. She asks if he is angry, and he says that they went drinking together and that she should not act this way until she is done with her studies.
