The scene opens on the roof of the house where Hirokazu's father, Chief Iori, lives with his son, Hayato, and his daughter-in-law, Yuta. The father tells Hayato that he is tired of his son's naps and that he has been divorced from his first wife because he was too young to be attracted to a young man like Hayato. He says that he now knows that Hayato does not dislike him, and that his food is not as healthy as Hayato's. Hayato tells his son that he must leave immediately, for he has to start buttering him up. He tells him to return his love, and Hayato apologizes for not asking him to leave when he first came to visit. He admits that he should have asked Hayato to leave earlier, but that he was afraid of him breaking his heart. He apologizes to Hayato for making him feel guilty, but Hayato says that it was not his fault, for it was his cousin who made the lunch. He adds that he hopes that his son will visit him soon, because he is in love with Hayato and wishes to have sex with him.
