The teacher tells Misaki that she's sorry for his feelings for her, but that he's now a "resident" at the school. Misaki's new boyfriend, he says, is a "really good guy" . The teacher says that Misaki is a good person, too, and that he would have punched him if he were sober. He also says that he wishes the school year would have been shorter, because students would prefer to be laid back. The girl says that she can't figure out how to get over Misaki. She's a teacher, after all, and she doesn't know what to do with herself now that the relationship is over.
