The chapter opens with Hiroyuki's greeting to his grandson, Hikari. Hiroyuki tells Hikari that he's been waiting for him at his house for the past few days. He's tired of waiting. Hikari says that Hiroyuki looks like an old man in the car, but Hiroyuki doesn't seem to care. He says that Hikari is the hero of the story, and that everything is fine. He also says that he was tired of being a househusband in order to keep Hiroyuki busy. He asks Hikari if he wants to call him step-father. When Hikari replies that he is, Hiroyuki says that if his grandson turns him away, he'll have no choice but to do so. He tells Hiroyuki that he and Masaki are training today, so he has to get back to his house ASAP. He reminds Hiroyuki not to tell Masaki about hikari, but to just ignore him if he asks. He adds that Masaki used to say nice things to Hiroyuki, but that he didn't think that they were serious. Now that he has Hikari, he thinks about it like his father does, and he confronts Masaki all the time about it. He remembers that when Masaki talked to his father, he was cool and held his own. When Hiroyuki asks if he thinks Masaki and Hikari are a good pair, he says that.
