About This Chapter
The narrator begins this soliloquy by saying that he's become "f.a. forever alone" . He's also become a "black widow" , which is a term used to describe a woman who's been raped, murdered, or disemboweled. He wants to know what's going on. He asks the bartender to bring him a glass of black widow. The bartender tells him about a man named "jun bai," who is known as "the dragon king" because of the way he murders people. The narrator tells us that the dragon king's brother, the younger brother, neglected to discipline his children. The younger brother and his brother-in-law, the older brother, were both too busy working and didn't have time to discipline their kids. The older brother was good at spending his parents' money, so he and his younger brother spent a lot of time with grandpa. After the three of them got married, grandpa's company faced a crisis, so grandpa couldn't contact his own children anymore. When grandpa realized that his kids were stealing money from his company, he went to prison instead of his kids. After being released from jail, grandpa tried to find his other two grandchildren, but he never knew where they were and how they were. He wanted to find the granddaughter, but she's a secret. The other grandson, the young man named Jun Hai, is also a secret, and the narrator tells him to get over his nerves. He tells the narrator to take grandpa on a tour
