The narrator tells his sister that he's going to swim from the western sea to the island of xiaoxi. She's excited, but she's also worried that she'll have a bad time being happy. The narrator says he'll check into the hotel and then go check out the whole thing. He's not sure why she didn't tell her family in advance about the trip. He also doesn't like the fact that the hotel only has "ordinary rooms" . Second sis says that she can do whatever she wants in the hotel. She tells the narrator that they've been sitting on the bus all day, so it'd be better not to go out that night. He tells her that his grandfather has many hotels like this, which is why he has always admired his grandfather. He says that he still has things to do and that he expects his grandfather to go to the sea too. He then tells her about his grandfather's dream of being a famous director. He adds that he hasn't seen him in a long time and that it's been two years since he left. He asks about the financial advisor who messed up their financial report. He wants to know how they can make such a big mistake. He goes on to say that the dinner is just around the corner and that everyone should go out and have a good time. He compares the food to his own drumstick and asks if he remembers the director who messed it up before. He reminds her that she gave the director another chance and has to be tolerant. She says that if she ever wants to pursue him again, she should stop liking him.
