Before the second part of the chapter opens, we are introduced to a new character, the "happy urban clown" . He is about to die, and his family will receive a check for the cost of his funeral. The clown's family will not receive anything more than an urn filled with ashes, but if the clown complains even once, or even dies, the clown will receive nothing. He tells us that his mother would never have made him a good clown if she had known that he was going to die. She tells him to think about the "plastocheck" , which will make him fry a diode. He crouches between his not-on-the-skateboard , and the robot sentries will mince meat out of him. He says that he doesn't have any friends in the world, so he's going to take refuge with his four friends, Hortense, Skeya, Lolacruz, and Ubedah. Hortense tells him that he can still have fun with them, and that he should forget about the clown and go to have fun as long as he wants. The robots froze, the controls froze, and he was on his knees with the vulva. He rushes to find a vent hatch. He finds an urgent bulletin that there is going to be a clash between the anarchists and the mega-mex volunteers. The anarchists are about to mutilate the volunteers, and they should hurry up and beat them up. They eat a mouthful of "carniful mary-jane-oil" and then they decide to rip off the statue of the clown. It's hollow, but they can use it to film holo-clips.
