In the midst of the chaos of the fight, rico tells his brother that he and his brother's allies have won the day. . He tells rico that he has trained at home since the day he was born, and that his freakish arms are due to an experiment they performed on him when he was a kid. They pumped him full of hormones, and reshaped his skeleton so that he could fight without looking like an ogre. They thought that this would make him invisible to an ogre, but rico won't let them touch him. He says that the townsfolk told him that after hearing the screams, he stopped shooting. They said that his brother could no longer distinguish between ogres and people anymore. He wonders if his brother has been expecting him, and rico says that he'll do his part too. He wants to see how the lower levels of the town compare to the upper levels. He doesn't want to be seen as a coward, and he wants to make sure that the one eyed man is the one who killed rico.
