The narrator tells us that he's fallen into a "trap" and that he doesn't know what to do now. He's worried about what he'll do if Evans sees what's going on. He tells himself that he can't go through with his "sob story" now that he knows that Evans is a "narcissist" and a "virtuous liar" . The narrator begs the harleys to take him to their house so that she can tell him what she's been up to.
