About This Chapter
It's September 1st, National Disaster Day, and this is a great opportunity for the characters to practice disaster drills. The narrator says that he wants a peaceful world, but he doesn't want to be a part of a disaster. He wants to be part of something chaotic, like a fire, a flood, or a storm. He says that even if it's a disaster, he'd like to eat a scallop, though he's too earth-bound to eat it. He also says that if there were no water, he would like to drink milk, but droughts are also a big issue. He adds that he'll survive even if there weren't food, like if there was no bread in France, he wouldn't have to eat cake, or if there wasn't water, let the animals drink milk. Finally, he says that the animals should be allowed to eat their own food, since they're so small. They're like us, but they've got pockets in their cheeks, so they can eat whatever they want. Next, they should be able to chirp a little bit with small animals, so that they don't get separated from each other. Then they should have a little snack, like they do with humans. Then there's the little dog, which has a collar, so it'll be okay. And finally, the little hamster, which costs only 9.99 to buy, has become a shopping program for people who want to buy food for their pets.
