In this chapter, we learn that the "wild grizzlies" are not happy about the upcoming marriage between Jesse and his sister. Jesse is upset that his sister is marrying someone who is not a member of his gang. He tells his sister that he disagrees with the marriage and that he will not accept it. He also tells her that he does not know the man who is proposing to her. He asks her not to force her sister to marry someone who does not belong to her gang. Jesse then tells his friends that he is sorry that they had to see the fight that took place between the two of them. He says that he still has something to do and that they are friends of the "black's friend" . He then tells them that they should stop messing around in school and not to mess around in his personal affairs. He adds that he has just told his friend that he had confessed his feelings to her and asked her to be his boyfriend.
