About This Chapter
The first event of the summer festival is upon us. It's a three-day festival, and it's all about catching bugs and catching fish. Shmoop introduces us to the protagonist , who tells us that the lessons in the game are boring, and that he wishes he could go back to school and learn something new. He's worried that the game is becoming too difficult to play, but he's also worried that he'll never be as good as he was in school. He wants to go to the island and have some fresh air, so he decides to go with the protagonist to catch some bugs. The protagonist is scared of bugs, and so he chooses the ground team to catch them. He also wants to catch fish, but since he can't, he goes to the sea team instead. He tells the protagonist that the sun is starting to get too hot, and he wants to stay out in the shade to catch bugs. He says that he doesn't want to be eaten by fish, and then he suggests that they scrape up sea shells to get some more points. He then suggests that the protagonist split into a ground team and a sea team. The ground team will catch the bugs, while the sea teams will catch fish. He warns the protagonist not to worry about catching fish at once, since they'll all be eating the same thing at once. He suggests they try the traditional method of catching fish, which involves knocking a wave with a fish that's unconscious, and the protagonist yells at the wave to wake it up. He thinks that this is a good idea, since the protagonist will be able to catch the bug
