When the door opens, Belle is horrified to find her father alone with her mother. She begs her father to let her kiss her father, but he refuses, saying that it would be inappropriate for her to do so. Belle tells her father that she is sorry that he did not allow her to kiss him, and she begs him to open the door so that she and her father can kiss. He refuses, telling her that it is a "bargain," and she must leave.
