When Hayato arrives at the castle, he is greeted by his wife, who tells him that his father has ordered him to live as a "temporary husband and wife" in order to "blend in" with the rest of the castle's citizens. Hayato is shocked at this news, but he is comforted by the knowledge that his wife is so important to him. He asks her if she has feelings for him, and she replies that she does, but that they cannot return to the castle. He demands that she bring Hayato and his wife to him immediately.
