About This Chapter
In this short scene, the narrator tells us that he's finally decided that he wants to marry someone. He's been looking for someone for a long time, and he finally decides to ask his childhood friend if he'd like to marry him. He tells her that he hasn't said he would marry, but that she's telling him that she wants him to marry her. The narrator says that he doesn't want to marry anyone just yet, because he'll be 30 by the time he gets married. He says that if he wanted to marry a woman, it would have to be someone like his mother, who's a super commoner. He also says that his mother's house is like a second home to him and his father, who is a super rich guy. He adds that he and his friend are surrounded by enemies, and that he wishes they would just let him escape. He wants to go out and have a drink with his friend, but he knows that he has to keep the proposal a secret from his friends, since his mother is the daughter of a business partner. He asks his friend if it would be possible for them to become husband and wife, and she says that it was her mistake to ask him, since she hates him. She says that she never wants to make a decision on anything half-heartedly, and asks him if there's anything to laugh about in the proposal. He laughs, and then he asks her if she has any plans to stop him from getting married. She tells him to have his answer ready by the next day.
