In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters. The first of these characters is a businessman who gambles away the money of his company and loses all his money in the process. The second character is a young woman who is in love with the man who gambled her money away. The third character is an old man who has gambled away all of his money and lost all of it. The fourth character is the young woman's father. The fifth character is her son.
