About This Chapter
It's springtime, and a stray cat has been poisoned. The vet tells the narrator that it's a good idea to give strays food because they'll be more likely to survive on the streets. The narrator is shocked and horrified to see the cat lying on the ground. He immediately goes to find the cat's owner, but the landlord doesn't have a clue about cats. The landlord says that it costs money to raise cats, so he'll just let the cat live with him. The two of them live together, and the narrator says that he's going to be more selfish and better to the cat. The next day, they're going to have a press conference.
