In this short scene, the father and son enter the palace. The father tells his son that the path to the palace is not straight, and that he must sacrifice an arm to get to it. The son asks the father to guide him to the dragon god, but the father refuses to do so. He tells the father that the god is the core of all the dragons of the world, and the only way to open the gate is to sacrifice one's arm. He promises to give the god everything he has, in exchange for his son's life. When the father realizes that his son has been taken in by the god, he asks the son to bring him back to life.
