About This Chapter
The next morning, the young narrator tries to make sense of the events of the previous night. He tells the sunbae that he has been crying all night, and that he did not want to run away from the house. He says that he prepared breakfast so that he would be able to eat and thank him for taking good care of him even if he spoke like that. He adds that he was worried when he used to quarrel with him, but recently, he had been close to the man to ask about him. He feels more comfortable around the man than he did with the old man, and he says that his love for the man will bear fruit this time. The young narrator says that this is not the way he wanted to begin, but he has to tell him the reason for his avoidance of the man. He apologizes for yesterday's incident, and says that if he suddenly confesses, it will not trouble the man, but if he does confess, then he should continue to help the man from the side, and continue to try to help from the other side. The narrator asks if something happened to hanseo, and if it is important, he can ignore it. He then asks if it took this long for hanseo to say he liked her, and she says that it is not surprising that it did not work out with him. She tells him that he needs to get to the hospital in ten minutes, so he should take a cab to get there. She says that she will go right away if he continues to refuse to help her.
