It's morning, and Tran Ky wakes up. He's worried that his mom has woken him up. Tran Ky tells Tran Ky to get ready for school, because there's going to be a big storm in the morning. He wants to get Tran Ky's dad to come pick him up, but Tran Ky says he's too scared to do so. He also says that the storm is getting worse, and that the traffic is bad. Finally, Tran Ky calls his dad and tells him that he hasn't heard from his mom or dad yet. He asks his dad if he can come home for a while, but his dad says that he'll have to stay at his uncle's house for a bit, since his mom and dad aren't home yet. When Tran Ky finally gets home, he tells his dad that he doesn't feel well, and asks if he could go to his aunt's funeral. His dad says he can't, because his mom's still at the house, and his dad's not home yet, so Tran Ky has to ask his dad to let him go. He says that being a scared person is good in some ways, but not so good in others. He tells his father to use a sword to protect his self, and to come back to him if he keeps pushing himself too hard.
