In this chapter, we are introduced to a number of characters who have been introduced in the previous chapters. The first of these characters is the "war lord" , who tells the audience that the battle is going to be won by the "next banksy" . The second character is "Shorty," who is also introduced. The third character is called "the harlem tiger," and the fourth is "the little punk pistol." The chapter ends with a discussion of the existence and whereabouts of the "hero" known as the "harlem tiger." Many people in the area believe that the hero is still out there, but that he has been deserted by his father, who was once considered a hero. The "little punk pistol" has whipped the little punk, and he has cleaned up the register. The little punk is "famous," and he and the "shorty" are now known as "the red fist" and "the gang."
