He asks the young man about his family, and the man tells him that his mother has forbidden him to go outside. The young man says that his father has told him that it is dangerous outside, and that he should stay inside. He tells the Mingjing official that he is sorry that he has let the authorities arrest him and his daughter, but he wants them to see the arrest as a punishment, and not as punishment for the crime they have committed.
