The monk welcomes the young man to his new home at the abbey. He tells him that he will be trained to become an apostle. This is where he will learn how to be a good person. The monk tells the boy that his father died because of him. He asks the boy if he atone for his sins, and the boy says that he never considered him anything more than a "hussle" .
