In this short scene, the Governess tries to convince her daughter to let go of her. She tells her that she is tired of tea and that she wants to go home. The Governess tells her daughter that she killed her friend and that he did not kill him. She says that she would do anything for her to bring her back, but that she had to return home to "eradicate the evil" that was tempting her. When she tells her son that he should take care of the man she was traveling with, she tells him to wake up and apologize for not teaching her boys good manners. She then leaves.
