In this chapter, we learn that the witches have cast a combined spell on the ship, and that they are almost done with it. The monster is furious at the witches for casting such a powerful spell, and he begs them to do something about it. He says that he survived five years of pain and suffering for his family, and now he wants to "make things right" for his sister and her family. He vows that he will not do such a thing again, and says that the next time he will let the "giant ball of death" destroy him and his family.
