In this chapter, Mina and Ren meet for the first time. Mina is nervous about meeting Ren, but Ren reassures her by saying that Ren is her first love and that he is her "first love" . The two are interrupted by the arrival of a cat, who helps Mina put on her summer clothes. The cat's help makes Mina feel as though she is receiving a gift from Ren, and she begins to laugh uncontrollably.
