In this chapter, the reader is introduced to a number of new characters. The first is Maule, Maule's friend from school. Maule tells the reader that he and Maule used to play the violin together, and that Maule told him that they should play the instruments together after they're done using the electric guitar. He also tells the story of how Maule fell in love with a woman named Anahi, whom Maule had met in school, and how they ended up getting married.
