The narrator asks if manzhenjian lives in the apartment. He tells her that he is in love with her and that he has been looking for her for a long time. He says that he thought he would never see her again, but that all of the boys at the university had a crush upon her and even her love letters had been written to them. The narrator tells him that he can help him find the reason for this and that they can resolve the problem together.
