Um, ok… first of all there should be trigger warnings. Says explicit but there’s not so much love making between the main characters (though last chapter is super cute). The story is heavy with dark back story and I found it hard to get into to enjoy. BAD STUFF: There is sex with a minor, dad on son child abuse/incest(maybe not blood but still kid calls him dad)/parent neglect, for one character, then the other character gets raped at knife point by two guys, and there’s almost a murder. GOOD STUFF: seems a pretty accurate characterization of child trauma (so it’s a bit disturbing), but the friend cheers him on and is his life saver (the basis of the entire story). Left me feeling a bit ick though, except for that last bit of fluff at the very end. Leaves a complicated feeling, like I shouldn’t be intruding on their lives by reading, even though it’s fiction. Just be warned!
