This chapter opens with a conversation between the Panda and the Panda's servant, Ren. Ren tells Ren that he will return all of the money he owes him within two months, and Ren promises to give him two more months to repay the money. Ren says that he is currently penniless, but he is determined to seize the opportunities that heaven has to offer him. He says that heaven is where he can make his fortune, and that he should not be discouraged. Ren responds by saying that the jade emperor has just said that he can travel between heaven and earth without any restrictions, and if Ren does not want to break the law, then he should hit him. Ren replies that he has always admired the Panda, even the famous monkey king, and he says that mere monkeys are not a match for him.
