The narrator tells us that the institute is holding a banquet to thank the various groups that have invested in the company. The banquet will also display some of the latest inventions and new projects. The narrator explains that the banquet is being held out of boredom and that many people are dissatisfied with the way the company is run. He adds that there are many competing factions and " turbulent tides" at the company and that those who are close to Mr. Jing cannot be messed around either. Mr. Eddie, the head of the company's security, enters the banquet hall and greets Mr. Ming, the son of the founder. He tells him that he is the illegitimate son of Dr. Ming and that he has come to announce the arrival of the group of scientists. He explains that they are the ones who approved the super beast experiment in the first place. He says that he was passing by the lab and practiced his skills on the beast to save it from boredom. He then tells Ming that he will tear him apart one day if he does not stop practicing his skills. Ming is very angry, he says, and he hopes that the food will help him feel better.
