In this chapter, we learn that the young man we met at the beginning of the story is dead. We learn that he's a student at the local high school, and that his name is Sebastian. He's also a friend of Sebastian's brother, who doesn't recognize Sebastian as his real identity. Sebastian is shocked to find out that his friend is dead, and he asks if there's anyone else in the universe besides him. He also asks if he can get away from this place, and Sebastian says that he wants to save him.
